Even if you were 100% right, it's more just about the idea of "not the time and place."
I've made comments that I felt strongly about but just landed entirely differently than I intended. It can be hard to take a step back and see that when you're on Twitter or making internet comments.
I assume you care more about the humanity of the people you are engaging with rather than the specific idea you are debating. If you expressed that feeling I think most everyone would move on.
Robert is an empathy guy. We love that about him, but it means he's making himself vulnerable in a public way. He's had a rough time lately and I hope some of the commenters here can lift him up the same way that the 15,000 lifted up RJ last night. That's what our Illini family is all about.
