MI alum (snare, for you Robert) and DCI fan here. Completely agree, there should be much less (perhaps no) piped in music. This is a college environment, not the NFL. Pregame is a better performance as they do not have to learn a new drill and music for each show. Plus, there are too many add-ons (e.g. Band Day) and relatively few where we get to see MI at their best. Finally, I think you snubbed the Cavaliers' show to Holst's Planets. The drill to Saturn is still one of the most impressive ever.
