Church
The play is called "Church." The entire point behind the play call: catch the ball behind the sticks, take a knee, the clock stops with the first down, and then spike the ball as soon as it's set.
It's the play they have in the playbook for this exact situation. The "we're out of timeouts" play. Church... kneel... get it? Church was the play call.
If you saw me make my big dumb entrance to the postgame press conference, I had hustled down there after From The Stands because I wanted to ask about the play. On the sideline, was there any thought to the clock and a player running across the field (for a team that didn't have any timeouts left)?
