Lithuania and Croatia are both members of the European union - but lie on the continent separated by a good 1000 miles or so. However, freshman guard Kasparas Jakucionis (“KJ”) from Lithuania and sophomore center Tomislav Ivisic from Croatia now reside in the closest of proximity - both wearing the orange and blue of the University of Illinois.

While they may have been question marks in the preseason - they were completely unknown entities after all - through the first two games, they have been loud exclamation points. As they were in the season opening win against Eastern Illinois, the duo again were the engine powering the Illini tonight in a 90-58 win over SIU-Edwardsville. Ivisic led all scorers in the game with 18 points while Jakucionis did just about everything else with 13 assists (tying the freshman single game assist record held by Frank Williams) and a team high (along with Morez Johnson) 8 rebounds - to go along with 12 points.
