From The Stands - EIU
It's 2:19 am and I'm just now starting this post. My flight leaves from Midway bound for Idaho and the new grandchild at 9:50 am. Need to leave here at 6:15, want to get at least three hours sleep, still have to pack... I think I can pull this off and still get those three hours of sleep.
Someone told me once that three hours is the key. Just get three hours and you can make it through the next day. I guess I've never really questioned whether that was true or not. I've always told myself that it's true. 2.5 hours? Too tired. At least three? I feel good.
This will just be the From The Stands recording with a few comments. I'll try to write out my game thoughts on the airplane tomorrow. If I'm not sleeping, of course.
The reason I'm not starting until after 2:00 am (since my hour-by-hour schedule is so hot right now):
- Game finished a little before 11:30.
- Recorded the FTS below and then went to the press conference.
- Went out on the field and recorded the TV segment with Tristan from WCIA.
- Got back to the fire truck around 12:20 just as Carmen was wrapping up putting everything inside (well timed on my part).
- Drove the fire truck up to Rantoul (more work being done next week).
- Drove back to my house and unloaded tailgate stuff.
- Let the dog out, drink a gallon of water, sit down at my laptop to start writing this at 2:19.
Overall, as I say in this recording, I'm fairly pleased with how the game went. True, you can't read much into a game against an FCS opponent, but the individual performances were impressive. Lots of "wow" plays.
