Got Better

Today was truly one for the 17. It was a day in which the biggest cheer at an Illini basketball team - was for the Illini football team. Pat Bryant’s game winning touchdown catch and run against Rutgers was played on the SFC jumbotron at the under 16 media time out and the rather sleepy crowd of just 13000 and change woke up for what was by far the loudest ovation of the afternoon. As I noted on TwitterX - this was an Illinois basketball game that no one cared about - but for all the right reasons.

In fairness, though, it was a game that deserved its second billing status. The Hawks from Maryland-Eastern Shore came into today sporting a lofty KenPom ranking of 358 (out of 364) - and it showed.
