So, Just How Good Are We?

Ever since I began writing them two years ago, these Tuesday NERDstats articles have been about context. They're my attempt to use NERDstats (I don't really think of them as "NERDstats" anymore) to put what we're seeing on the field into context. The task this week: We just beat #22 and now we're #19 in the polls. Just how good are we?

My answer: I still don't know yet. Nobody really knows yet. We have a much better idea than we did a month ago, and I feel stupid for my 4-8 prediction (who knew we'd beat both #19 Kansas and #22 Nebraska?), but we still don't fully know how good we are. We know that we're good. But does that mean 7-5 good or 10-2 good? Let's see if these numbers tell us anything.
