I'm in Minneapolis right now for Big Ten Basketball Media Days. So I've had this frustrating experience of wanting to write and write about 5-1 Illini football yet zero time to sit at a keyboard.

Thankfully, the Field Pass boys needed a fill-in last night for their Iowa recap podcast because Dan wasn't available. So I filled in with John and Dude K and was able to take all of the football thoughts I've been wanting to write and put them out into the world in podcast form.

The Field Pass is our football podcast hosted by Dan, John, and some guy named Michael Dudek who happens to be our last receiver to go over 1,000 yards in a season. They do a recap pod and a preview pod every week and I've been awful about promoting it. But now that they asked me to join, my ego demands that I broadcast this audio far and wide.

I definitely thought Robert was going to say he announced the Illini win over the PA System during the 07 Iowa game.

Understand time constraints but I'm still more of a 'read articles' guy than listening to podcasts. Hoping the writing comes along in addition to the audio and is not replaced by it.

Love the articles but I think the podcasts are a fantastic supplement. You see certain “content” creators get lazy with podcasts because they can be more time efficient (read: Bill Simmons) but don’t think that will be a problem on IlliniBoard ever lol. The Zuppke pod last week was a blast.

Obviously, all of the content gets even more enjoyable when we’re winning. Can’t avoid the fact that a gleeful discussion about potential New Years bowl games is better than discussing which freshman linebacker might be contributors 2 years down the line as we pray for a 4 win season under a previous coach.

Me, too. To tell the truth, I'm just not all that interested in listening to other people talking about things. I feel the same way about talk radio. Plus there's the time commitment -- you can read a bunch of articles in the same time it takes to listen to a podcast.
