If you're wondering how to feel old, here is how to feel old.

You drive across campus. It helps if you live in Champaign but... you drive across campus. While you're driving across campus with the radio tuned to 97.5, the song "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" comes on. So you're driving close to where Forbes Hall used to be and you're listening to a song that was in a movie that came out a few months before you moved into Forbes Hall as a freshman. The Forbes Hall with a piano in the lounge where you would sit and play Everything I Do I Do It For You hoping that some girl from the 4th floor would walk past and scream "oh my God I love that song."

It worked in high school. It did not work at Forbes Hall.

So you hear that song, and you flashback to certain moments on campus, and then you arrive at the bagel shop where you're going to write a few articles today because you felt like you needed to get out of your house and refresh your writing brain. When you sit down at your laptop, you're not sure if it's accurate to say that the movie (Robin Hood - Prince Of Thieves) really did come out in the summer of 1991. Was it maybe 1990?

You look it up and you see that the release date was June 14, 1991. So yes, two months before I moved into Forbes Hall. While on that page you see the cast list, you remember that it was Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio who played Maid Marian, and then you see that the actor who played Little John was Nick Brimble. You click on the Nick Brimble link in Wikipedia because you can't remember what Nick Brimble looked like.

And on the Nick Brimble page, you see that he just turned 80 years old last month. And you start to do the math and you realize that Nick Brimble, who looked like this when he played Little John in that movie (age 46 when filming, five years younger than I am right now but resembling current me a tiny bit)...

...is now 80 years old. And THAT makes you feel so incredibly old.

We really need to build a solid college football program soon. Maybe this guy can help:
