The 90 Illini #57: Chase Canada

I'm a big fan of names. As I said on Twitter the other day, I'm pretty excited about a certain walkon name this year. We'll see a "college all-name team" or two out there on the internet in the next few weeks and I really think we have our best candidate to make the team in a long time: freshman walkon wide receiver Morrison Giggetts. Something about the two t's at the end makes it even better.

Sure, it's no General Booty or Bumper Pool, but still, let me put his name in there with some All Name Team names from last year so you can see how it fits:

Octavius Oxendine
Fish McWilliams
Morrison Giggetts
Tonka Hemingway
Dodge Sauser

It fits, right? It fits. Morrison Giggetts for All Name Team 2024.

Chase Canada is another great name. Probably not gonna be All Name Team, but still, a unique name. There's the potential for "O Canada!" newspaper headlines and "blame Canada!" tweets. And for yours truly, there's the opportunity to once again stretch too far for a joke when I tweet something like "It's a hot one today - someone get Chase a ginger ale because Canada dry."

I know it doesn't make any sense. Shut up. I'll eventually find it.
