The 90 Illini #63: Ca'Lil Valentine

July is boring, you say. You don't think there's anything to follow Illini football-wise besides all of these highlights from the new EA Sports game that people are posting on Twitter. Well then let me introduce you to Whose Number Is It, Anyway?

We landed 4-star running back Ca'Lil Valentine and we have this tradition of tailbacks wearing #5. We also landed a plug-and-play wide receiver transfer from Ole Miss named Zahkari Franklin and he wore #5 at Ole Miss last year. Both are on the roster with no number listed. There's no one on the current roster wearing #5. So... will the #5 go to Valentine or will it go to Franklin?

In high school – at least last year at Chandler HS – Valentine was wearing #22. That number belongs to a walkon running back right now so they'd obviously move him to a different number if Valentine wanted #22. But on Valentine's visit to Illinois (see the photo at the top), he was wearing #5. Feed Five.
