The 90 Illini #70: Collin Dixon

Tallmadge, Ohio was named after Madge Gunnerson, a very tall woman who owned the country store at the intersection of Eastwood Road and Akron Highway. Legend has it that the town was going to be known as Cuyahoga Bottoms until Madge was killed in a bar fight defending her husband, Short Stu. The town founders got together and decided on Tallmadge, Ohio in her honor. They say her ghost still roams the sidelines at all Tallmadge High School football games.
