Those Were The Days - Nebraska

Just got to Lincoln. I'm gonna publish Detlef's TWTD right now, then move it down the list, and then write the SOC. And then I think I'm going to sleep for nine hours.

This week, Detlef takes us back to 1991 when... we didn't play Nebraska. But I'll allow it since I remember absolutely everything about this game during my freshman year. I'll let him explain why he wrote about this game. Here's Detlef:

Illinois visits Nebraska this week. I hope the kickoff return team does not let a kickoff return die in the wind to be recovered by Big Red. I also hope Illinois can score when it gets to the one-yard line. Yes, I am still bitter about last season’s defeat. I decided to change the mojo for this week’s column and write about a game not involving Nebraska. This week’s story recalls when Illinois hosted a team from Texas and turned that squad into burnt Texas Toast.
