Those Were The Days - Rutgers

Seems crazy that we haven't played Rutgers since 2021. If you don't remember, when the Big Ten did a six-year schedule rotation from 2016 to 2021, there was one protected crossover game from the Big Ten East. For Illinois, in that rotation, our crossover was Rutgers. It was then set to be Penn State from 2022 through 2027 but the Pac 12 schools came along and divisions were eliminated.

So after playing Rutgers six years in a row, this is the first Rutgers matchup since 2021. And as I'm typing that I'm realizing that I haven't read Detlef's article yet and he might have said this stuff in his intro as well. Let's take a look to see if he said the same thing...
